Book Review Terms

ReadNextList reviews speculative fiction — science fiction, fantasy, and related genres — with a focus on independent and self-published authors. We are an editorial publication, not a paid review service. Submitting a review request does not guarantee a review.

We accept requests for novels, novellas, and short story collections. If you are unsure whether your book is a fit, feel free to contact us before submitting.

All reviews published on ReadNextList reflect the honest opinion of our reviewers. Submitting a book for review does not entitle you to a positive review, a particular rating, or any specific editorial treatment. ReadNextList does not accept payment in exchange for reviews or for editorial coverage of any kind.

If a submitted book is not a good fit for our audience or our reviewers find it does not meet our editorial standards, we reserve the right to decline to publish a review without explanation.

Submitting a review request does not guarantee that your book will be reviewed, accepted for scheduling, or published within any specific timeframe. We review submissions as our editorial schedule permits and will contact you if your book is selected.

You may submit one or more cover images (for example, alternate cover versions for a reader poll) as part of your review request. By submitting cover images or other artwork, you represent and warrant that you have the right to grant ReadNextList permission to display and use those images for editorial, polling, and promotional purposes.

This includes images designed by a third party (such as a cover designer) where you have obtained the appropriate license or rights assignment to permit this use. If you are unsure whether your cover license permits third-party display, please check with your designer before submitting.

By submitting a review request, you grant Cora Press (owner of ReadNextList) a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free license to display your book's title, cover image(s), author name, bio, and any other information you submit in connection with the review — on ReadNextList and in any promotional materials for ReadNextList and Cora Press, in any medium now known or later developed. This does not transfer any copyright in your work or in your submitted materials.

ReadNextList publishes for a general audience. We do not review books containing graphic violence, explicit sexual content, graphic horror, or strong profanity as primary or significant elements. If you are unsure whether your book meets our content standards, please review our Story Submission Terms for a description of the content guidelines we apply across all ReadNextList publications, or contact us before submitting.

Reviews published on ReadNextList may be excerpted, quoted, and shared in promotional materials for ReadNextList and Cora Press in perpetuity. ReadNextList retains the copyright in the review text itself; the review is the editorial work of our reviewer and does not belong to the author or publisher of the reviewed book.
